I love my 6th form. So far, anyway xD
I have to admit I wasn't sure on the first day, it felt so weird... but today was day 3, and I'm getting a feel for the place now. I'm also pleased to say that although we haven't taken over an area like we did with the corner back in the olden days, we've got ourselves a routine meeting point and I think we're gonna be using the same table at lunch from now on
It's weird wearing a suit all the time, people look at you completely differently on buses and stuff. We really are treated like adults, if a teacher isn't in they tell us what we'll be covering in the lesson before and we're allowed to study it on our own, and we can choose whether to go to the common room, study centre or library in free periods.
The lessons, on the whole, are really good. I love psychology and I really like biology and chemistry. I'm not sure about physics yet, I have two teachers for each subject and so far I haven't had the second one for physics, but the one who has taught me is a little too much like Mr Welch. If we don't understand, he just sighs rather than explaining things to us. He is, sadly, only there for the money. And I completely do not get it. I'm considering a change of course, but I'll let you guys know what I decide to do
My form is weird. There are 25 people in it, 12 are people I knew already and 13 are internal students. So from all the different schools that had people go there, we only have two. But I'm with a lot of people I like, and I've met some really nice people in the last couple of days. I can't wait to know the place and the people properly. Something else I can't get to grips with is what the boys in the lower school are like. They're polite, they hold doors open and say please and thankyou, they give accurate directions instead of getting us even more lost, and they wear their ties and collars done up properly and their shirts tucked in. I have not seen a single one without a blazer on. And even though the local bus routes feed two schools, there is absolutely no trouble, people actually stop getting on once the bus is full. It's not right.
